Eligible fleet customers of WEX, a global leader in intelligent payment solutions, can now access the Standard Fleet connected vehicle platform. With the launch, Standard Fleet's modern fleet management experience is available to WEX customers, including capabilities such as digital keys, remote vehicle access, and deviceless vehicle tracking.
Announced at the WEX Venture Capital Summit in Portland, Maine, the offering is a commercial solution that emerged from a previous WEX Venture Capital investment.
WEX said that as fleets transition to increasingly connected vehicles, operators are looking for simpler ways to manage vehicle data and services across mixed fleets. Standard Fleet’s platform links directly with supported vehicle manufacturers, allowing eligible WEX customers to activate vehicle data and services without traditional aftermarket telematics installations.
“Making Standard Fleet available through WEX gives customers a faster, simpler way to connect supported vehicles and begin using features like vehicle data and remote access," said Carlos Carriedo, chief operating officer, Americas Payments and Mobility at WEX. "It also demonstrates how WEX Venture Capital helps us identify emerging technologies and bring them to market faster, creating new opportunities to deliver offerings to customers that help build greater efficiencies to grow and scale their business.”
The Standard Fleet platform is available across more than 30 supported vehicle brands and can activate compatible vehicles quickly, with no installation appointments, vehicle downtime, or external devices required.
"We're excited to bring device-free telematics to WEX fleet customers," said David Hodge, founder and CEO of Standard Fleet. "Together, we're helping fleets unlock the value of connected vehicle data often without the time, expense, or operational burden of installing aftermarket hardware."
Providing Venture Capital Since 2023
Since launching in 2023, WEX Venture Capital has invested in more than 15 companies and funds developing technologies across fleet operations, mobility, fintech, and workflow automation.
WEX participated in Standard Fleet's Series A funding round in 2025, recognizing early the company's vision for software-defined fleet management. This recent Standard Fleet launch demonstrates how WEX Venture Capital helps translate strategic investments into customer-ready solutions that strengthen the WEX mobility platform.
"WEX Venture Capital invests in companies that can solve meaningful challenges for our customers across the data, workflow, and fintech layers of the physical economy," said David Klein, head of WEX Venture Capital. "Our goal isn't just to invest in promising startups. It's also to bring their innovations to WEX customers across the physical economy. Standard Fleet is an example of that strategy in action."
