2027 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid Returns with 42 MPG
The 2027 Toyota Corolla Cross gives small business fleets gas and hybrid options, available AWD, flexible cargo space, and up to an estimated 42 mpg combined.

Small business fleets can choose between gas and hybrid Corolla Cross models, with the hybrid offering standard AWD and an estimated 42 mpg combined.
Toyota
The 2027 Toyota Corolla Cross is returning with gas and hybrid powertrains, giving small business fleets a compact crossover option with available all-wheel drive and up to an estimated 42 mpg combined.
For 2027, Toyota has simplified the Corolla Cross Hybrid lineup by eliminating the S grade. The hybrid is now available in SE and XSE grades, while the rest of the Corolla Cross lineup largely carries over from the previous model year.
Gas models start at $25,535 for the L FWD, while the Hybrid SE starts at $31,415, excluding dealer processing and handling fees. The 2027 models are expected to arrive at Toyota dealerships this fall.
Gas or Hybrid Options for Business Use
The gas-powered Corolla Cross uses a 2.0L four-cylinder engine producing 169 hp. Fleets can choose front-wheel drive or Toyota's Dynamic Torque Control AWD, which can direct up to 50% of available power to the rear wheels when additional traction is needed.
Toyota estimates fuel economy at 30 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 31 mpg combined for FWD models. AWD versions are estimated at 29 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined.
For businesses putting on more miles, the Corolla Cross Hybrid pairs Toyota's fifth-generation hybrid system with standard electronic on-demand AWD. The system produces 196 total system hp and carries an estimated 46 mpg city, 39 mpg highway, and 42 mpg combined rating.
The hybrid's e-AWD system uses a separate rear electric motor to provide additional traction when needed, including when the system detects front-wheel slip.
Both gas and hybrid Corolla Cross models have a 1,500-pound towing capacity.
Choosing a Corolla Cross Grade
The gas Corolla Cross is available in L, LE, and XLE grades. The entry-level L includes an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear HVAC vents, remote keyless entry, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.
Moving to the LE adds features that may be useful for vehicles spending significant time on the road, including Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, wireless device charging, Smart Key with Push Button Start, automatic climate control, and four USB-C charging ports.
The XLE adds a 10-way power driver's seat with lumbar support, heated front seats, a 10.5-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking.
Hybrid models are available in SE and XSE grades for 2027. Both include standard e-AWD, while the XSE adds features including a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, 10.5-inch touchscreen, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Cargo Flexibility and Connected Technology
For businesses that need a vehicle to pull double duty between carrying people and equipment, the Corolla Cross includes 60/40 split-folding rear seats and flexible rear cargo space.
An 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen is standard, with a 10.5-inch display available or standard depending on grade. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are standard across the lineup.
All 2027 Corolla Cross grades also include five-year trials of Toyota Safety Connect and Service Connect. LE, SE, XLE, and XSE models add a five-year Remote Connect trial. With an active Remote Connect subscription or trial, users can access functions such as locating the vehicle, remotely starting the engine, and locking the doors through the Toyota app.
For a small business managing only a handful of vehicles, those connected features can provide some basic vehicle access and visibility without requiring a separate fleet technology platform.
Driver Assistance Comes Standard
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the 2027 Corolla Cross lineup. The suite includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Proactive Driving Assist.
Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Safe Exit Alert are standard on LE, XLE, SE, and XSE grades.
Toyota's basic new-vehicle warranty covers the Corolla Cross for three years or 36,000 miles, while powertrain coverage extends to five years or 60,000 miles. Hybrid electric components are covered for eight years or 100,000 miles.
The Corolla Cross also comes with ToyotaCare, which covers normal factory-scheduled maintenance for one year or 10,000 miles, along with three years of roadside assistance regardless of mileage.
For small business fleets looking at compact crossovers, the 2027 Corolla Cross provides two distinctly different operating choices: a lower-cost gas model with FWD or AWD, or a higher-priced hybrid with standard AWD and an estimated 42 mpg combined.
