Hi, welcome to Auto Focus. We're about to leave, so jump in, grab a seat, buckle up and hold on. I'm Chris Brown, your driver. This road will be at times bumpy, winding, flat, noisy and full of commentary on what we see out the window.

We'll be covering a lot of territory on this trip. On your left, look for topics ranging from fleet management, manufacturer fleet activities, the fleet leasing industry and vehicle remarketing. On your right, you'll find rental industry news and issues, car rental taxation and legislation information and automotive industry trends such as green fleet initiatives, alternative fuel vehicles and technological developments.

When I asked you to sit down, that doesn't mean shut up. You passengers will make this trip interesting.

You'll have a chance to comment on blog posts or anything in the world of fleet and the automotive industry that moves you. Whether you're a car rental operator, a company with a fleet, a vendor serving these communities or a reader with a (somewhat articulate) opinion, I want to hear from you. At some point we may establish guest bloggers, a forum, industry resource postings and streaming video.

We'll figure this out as we go along. Ultimately, this ride should represent a community of information, constructive discourse, opinions and ideas. Just don't ask me if we're there yet, because we're not on vacation. It's about the journey, and getting there is all the fun.
