Discussions included information about truck and bus regulatory requirements, funding opportunities and enforcement. Local agencies including air districts, the California Highway Patrol and equipment vendors participated.

The CARB Truck and Bus Regulations affect owners and operators of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) greater than 14,000 lbs. that use diesel fuel and travel in California. The rules require that trucks with engine years of 2009 or older be replaced or retrofit with diesel particulate filters on a schedule from Jan. 1, 2015 through 2023.
