Vinyl vehicle wraps and signage on your fleet vehicles are great mobile advertisements for your business. But removing the signage before you sell the vehicle can be a royal pain in the seat cushion. Outsource it or do it in-house, it could cost you $200 and up to take one off.
David Ziker of Ziker Cleaners and Uniforms in South Bend, Ind. has a great idea: he rents a portable electric or gas heater, like a mini version of the type used on the sidelines of a football game on a cold day. (You can rent a 10 to 30 KW heater for $40 to $80 a day.) He puts the heater inside his van and heats the metal until it's hot to the touch. This takes about a half hour if it's not too cold out. The vinyl peels off easily.
