Ford Pro is expanding its 5-year/100,000-mile Limited Powertrain Warranty to cover a broader range of commercial vehicles beginning with the 2027 model year, extending coverage beyond traditional trucks and vans to include several SUVs, crossovers, and passenger vehicles commonly used in business fleets.

Announced by Ford Pro President Alicia Boler Davis during the company's Fleet Preview event in Las Vegas, the expanded warranty will now apply to 2027 models:

  • Ford Maverick
  • Ford Ranger
  • Ford Mustang (excluding GTD)
  • Ford Bronco (excluding Raptor)
  • Ford Bronco Sport
  • Ford Mustang Mach-E
  • Ford Expedition
  • Ford E-Transit.

The move builds on Ford Pro's existing 5-year/100,000-mile Limited Powertrain Warranty already available on 2022 and newer F-150, Super Duty, Transit, F-53/F-59 stripped chassis, and E-Series models.

For small and mid-sized business fleets, the expanded coverage is designed to help lower the total cost of ownership by reducing unexpected powertrain repair expenses and improving vehicle uptime. Ford also notes the warranty remains with the vehicle if it is sold before expiration, potentially enhancing resale value.

Unlike many commercial warranties, the Limited Powertrain Warranty transfers with the vehicle, even if it is subsequently sold to a non-fleet customer before coverage expires.

The announcement comes as Ford Pro seeks to strengthen its position in the commercial vehicle market, where the company has led U.S. commercial truck and van sales for 41 consecutive years.

To qualify, businesses must register for a Fleet Identification Number (FIN) code and purchase vehicles under a fleet sales designation. The expanded warranty is available exclusively to Ford Pro FIN code customers.
