Commercial fleets looking to expand AI-powered safety beyond traditional dashcams will soon have new options from Pro-Vision. The company announced a new AI-equipped camera and an Inline AI Processing Module, both slated for release in the fourth quarter of 2026. Together, the products bring real-time pedestrian and vehicle detection to exterior camera views, helping drivers during lane changes, merging, and backing maneuvers.

While many AI dashcam and telematics platforms focus on monitoring drivers and the road ahead, Pro-Vision noted that its latest technology extends intelligent detection around the vehicle. The company partners with major telematics providers, including Motive, Netradyne, and Samsara, allowing fleets to bring 360-degree video into the same platform they already use for fleet operations.

The new AI-equipped camera uses onboard edge processing to detect pedestrians and vehicles in real time. When a hazard is identified, drivers receive audible and visual alerts directly on the in-cab monitor while maintaining the same 1080p image quality and low-light performance as Pro-Vision's existing camera lineup.

Two Pro-Vision in-cab monitors display AI-assisted camera views detecting a pedestrian behind a vehicle and a vehicle alongside a commercial truck during a lane change.

For fleets that already have camera systems installed, the Inline AI Processing Module adds AI detection capabilities to up to two existing non-AI cameras, including Pro-Vision cameras, without requiring a complete hardware replacement. Configurable detection zones allow fleets to tailor alert distances based on vehicle type and operating environment.

"Together with our existing Birdseye 360° AI technology, the new camera and processing module broaden our company's AI-powered safety offering for commercial fleets," said Michael Finn, president and CEO of Pro-Vision. "The expanded portfolio gives fleets more ways to add intelligent detection and alerting solutions across a wide range of vehicle types and camera locations, all while maintaining the reliability and system compatibility fleets expect from Pro-Vision."

The expansion reflects growing demand for AI technologies that provide drivers with greater situational awareness around the entire vehicle while integrating with existing fleet technology ecosystems.
