Data provider Fleetio and telematics vendor Geotab have launched a collaboration that provides customers from both companies with automated odometer updates, diagnostic trouble code (DTC) handling and fuel location exception reporting.
The integration provides one-click navigation between the two systems and the added ability to see current vehicle location within Fleetio so users can automatically sync odometer readings every day or use a one-click option to manually trigger a sync at any time.
Users can reduce the risk of fuel theft with email notifications and map visualizations noting discrepancies between fuel-up location and vehicle location. Email notifications can also be set to manage DTC codes and engine faults, allowing users to diagnose and resolve fault codes with one click.
"The direct communication between Geotab's location data and our preventative maintenance calendar in Fleetio gives us a precise fleet management timeline and notifies us in real-time as maintenance tasks need to be performed," said Phil Johnson, fleet manager at Zerorez, a fleet that provides cleaning services.
